It sounds like the transmitter is not binding with the drone. Did you do the firmware upgrade?

From the start the screen goes black after the copter gets around 100 meters away. Now after 6 or 7 flights it goes black after the copter is only 50 meters away. This thing was supposed to have a range of 800 meters. Any suggestions? I emailed the Hubsan folks but got no response.

If your into aggressive free style type flying your Hubsan "hornet" is for you. If your into top quality video with very lazy flying abilities then the P4 is for you. They are two very different units.
