    First crashproof drone

Any easy way to get the NTSB to back off is to have a LARGE group of people make paper airplanes, fly them in their house at the same time on one day and have all the paper airplanes CRASH and report all the crashes to the NTSB. Technically, if true, an airplane crash has to be reported and...

Advice for a new FPV Quadcopter User

This is an older thread but I thought my $.02 might be helpful to someone. I quickly figured out that my 6045 and 6045R props are 6045 (normal) and 6045R (Reverse). So, if you keep in mind the "R" is reverse then you should be able to figure it out easily.

syma x5c continues to climb even with no user input.

To add to this, my Syma X5c is unusable outdoors in a gentle breeze... the motors aren't strong enough to keep it in one place. My HobbyKing special I just got worked great Tuesday in a heavy breeze, not quite a stiff breeze. It's heavier and has more powerful motors and seems to be able to...

Newbie here - question on trim settings

My point is, you crash a drone and you break a prop or an arm... $5-$10 to fix? Crash a copter and you could be looking at big bucks.

What happened the last time you crashed a heli? ;)

First quad having issues with openpilot only running motor 4

I made the mistake of trying to do this step with no battery attached... the instructions did say to hook it up but I didn't bother reading that far. You did say one motor spins up so you must have a battery installed... good luck!

Looking to buy a Drone and overwelmed by the choices

FWIW, on my X5C the (video) camera being used cuts a good chunk of the flying time due to it's own power consumption. Great little starter quad, underpowered for outdoors unless it's practically dead calm and a little less maneuverable than I wanted.

First quad having issues with openpilot only running motor 4

Not sure if it helps or not but, when updating my CCD3 to the "race" settings something was done incorrectly and I had no pitch control. Come to find out, when I set up the transmitter I was doing one step and it was asking me to do something else (I think I completed a step but didn't realize...

    Live and learn...

I'm new to the forum and relatively new to quads and today I learned my first lessons on hobby grade quads... First, just because your RTF quad came with wires in a certain place doesn't mean they should be there. My antenna wires were nicely taped into place on the frame of the quad and today...

GPS is Global Positioning Satellite - GPS system would be an appropriate way to say it.

    Another noob to the hobby

Hi, my name is Steve, and I'm an addict... I've been interested in quads for a while now but was always offended by the price. In October, while poking around on Amazon I came across the Syma X5c for a great price. I read some reviews and decided to get it. 2 days later it was at my door. I...

syma x5c continues to climb even with no user input.

OP - sounds like you are expecting the THROTTLE to behave like the PITCH/ROLL stick. Pitch/roll stick automatically returns to "center" where the throttle up/down stays "where you left it" until you move it again (YAW, which is the left right rotation of the quad is the THROTTLE stick also but...
