Xiaomi Yi to iPhone - Landscape view?

I've bought a Xiaomi Yi action cam to use with my quad. The feed to the phone is currently in "Portrait" with the FPV "live feed" in a narrow band at the top of the screen. My Syma X8W that I'm linking it to has a holder attachment that grips the iPhone 6 in "Landscape". So, 2 reasons to switch...

    Soma X8W Take off

I've just heard from Banggood that they are sending out a replacement Syma X8W. Fingers crossed that this one is going to be OK! Many thanks for all the people that offered assistance and advice in the last week or so. It was just a "dud" I think. Cheers everyone, will advise when new one...

    Soma X8W Take off

I've waited 6 months to buy the thing... a little while longer waiting for a replacement should be bearable. I'm certainly not fixing their error! Cheers my friend!

Thanks Mike H, Yes.... I've calibrated the Quad... and realise the binding is not the same thanks. I've been looking at getting one of these for about 6 months and have a "Degree" in YouTube, Blog posts and other advice rooms concerning the opening, checking content, charging batteries, safety...

    Soma X8W Take off

Thanks, that's interesting... When I switched between 1 & 2 modes... the left remained the throttle in each mode. (I don't know about right stick, basically haven't been able to sue it yet!) Just checked that again, and no matter which mode I select, left stick is throttle. Could they have...

    Soma X8W Take off

OK... news of sorts.... I had tried switching between Modes 1 & 2 before and nothing changed. I just started it up and it was showing "Mode 1".... switched to 2 and no real improvement. Switched back to "1" and I managed about 30cm off the ground (inside) Best ever result ! Would love to try...

    Soma X8W Take off

Q 102, I had read your thread re your continuing saga earlier, but as always you never think it'll happen to you. I did buy from China, a Company called Banggood and having communication problems with them at the moment. Ring any bells? I have attempted to adjust right-hand stick on takeoff to...

    Soma X8W Take off

Hi Quadcopter 102, Thanks for the reply.... I've used the unit outside too. Tried "punching" it to get some height, but it won't have any of that, turns instantly on it's edge and tries to completely flip over upside down. Best I can do is reduce the motion to a "cartwheel" effect so as not to...

    Soma X8W Take off

Blades are not reversed. Not touching the right stick, and used both high and low rates. If I punch it, we get a complete 180 deg loop, and it finishes upside down on it's back with blades cutting the grass!

    Soma X8W Take off

Here's the link to the video showing the problem I have checked the configuration of the rotor blades.... I understand "A" & "B" markings etc ... still no joy.

    Soma X8W Take off

Still no joy, tried numerous suggestions from various sources. Blades are correct, binding OK, even left Quadcopter on floor (inside) before connecting battery, waited a couple of minutes before turning on and binding then re calibrating but same result. Plus after doing this sequence many...

    Soma X8W Take off

Thanks, I've checked blades and they're all OK. The "Higher" edge of each blade is the "Leading" edge... I've tried experimenting with the trim buttons and right stick during attempted take off... it's almost there, but I don't see why I should have to perform this very tricky correction. I...

    Soma X8W Take off

No warning labels, just the letters "A" & " B" No sticking, no play between gears. As I mentioned, it flips in different directions depending on what tweaks you make to the trim adjustors. Really frustrating as I want to take to the skies, watching out for any trees of course!
