    Cheerson CX-20 Rebuild

I just finished my complete overhaul of my Cheerson CX-20. While the CX-20 is easy to fly, the downside is it likewise is easy to crash which I have done numerous times necessitating the replacement of the body. Having successfully 3d printed a frame for my Hubsan X4 previously, I decided to...

How to adjust sensitivity of 2-axis gimbal pitch control

I put a cheap 2-axis gimbal on my heavily modded Cheerson CX-20 for my Mobius camera. It works fine however a slight change in the transmitter pitch knob rotates the camera quite a bit. What can I do to decrease the sensitivity of the gimbals pitch control? Currently rotating the pitch knob...

    Cheerson CX-20 ESC Replacement Question

I need to replace the esc on my Cheerson cx-20. The old esc had a solder pad for PPM and all the esc's on the quad had their red wire leading to the controller clipped. The new esc I received does not have a solder pad for PPM. Can I use this or do I need to return them and get the correct esc?

    Custom Legs for Cheerson CX-20

The attached photo shows my latest modification of my Cheerson cx-20 landing gear. Previously the legs were attached directly to the body which was not good because the force of a hard landing would then be transferred to the attachment points on the body causing the body to break. My solution...

    Custom Legs for Cheerson CX-20

While I've only had my CX-20 a short while I did manage to crack one of the stock legs. I've replaced them with my own 3d printed legs that should never break! Printed on a Mark One 3d printer in nylon, the legs also incorporate fiberglass for strength. The cross piece is reinforced with Kevlar...

    Cheerson CX-20 Battery?

I recently received my Cheerson CX-20 which came with a single 3s 2700mAh Lipo. I'd like to get some more batteries and am wondering what batteries others are using with it and whether the batteries will fit into the Cheerson. Thanks, Bruce

    Brushed Motor Lifespan

Alas, after 168 flights with a cumulative flight time of 18 hours 41 minutes I accidentally burned one of my stock Hubsan motors up. I crashed and thought I had the throttle lowered all the way but it wasn't. Regardless I've proved to myself at least that these ~$3 motors will last quite a long...

    Build or Buy?

I decided to buy a Cheerson CX-20 from Banggood. At the price they are selling it, it wasn't clear I could build one with the CX-20 features without spending a bunch more. I could care less about the looks although having wires and components sticking on a frame doesn't look terribly neat. Part...

Increase Flight Time of U818A HD Quadcopter.

No it doesn't sound like a good idea although other people may have a different idea. My experience is with small quads. The issue is by adding two more batteries you are increasing the weight that has to be lifted. My 500mAh battery weighs about 15g; adding two you are increasing the weight by...

    Brushed Motor Lifespan

I stand corrected! I took apart one of my Hubsan motor that didn't work anymore and found that they are brushed coreless motors.

    Brushed Motor Lifespan

I've seen those motors at the micro-motor-warehouse. When my current motors eventually fail I was thinking of trying them out. Interestingly the description of their CL-0820-17 motors states a lifetime rating of 5-6 hours; I'm almost at twice that with my stock Hubsan motors though the 5-6 hours...
