Bugs 2 & Battery charge questions

1. Where do we get parts for the Bugs 2? (Wanting a second battery and prop guards)

2. Can I use my RC car lipo charger on my quad copter lipos?

MJX has a "store" on Ebay - find them and send them a message. When the bugs 3 came out, parts were hard to find for a while. I won't be surprised if it's the same with the Bugs 2. Linparts.com was the first place to have the parts for the 3, so you might check there. They're expensive, though!

If your charger has banana connectors, you can get XT30 charge leads off Ebay and should have no problem charging with it as long as it will do 2s batteries. Best to balance charge too. Also, JayDrone on Youtube has a video where he wraps a bugs 3 battery with a little shrink wrap and it fits nice and snug in the bugs 2. My Bugs 2 should be here Friday and my 2 extra batteries got here yesterday. Happy flying!

Oh No! Is it hard to fly, or are you just a new pilot? I used to have a couple Blade collective pitch helicopters and I got pretty good with my orientation practicing on a simulator. I'm hoping I can avoid crashing, at least for a while. Lol

They actually look different. Not the same motors. Maybe same specs, but different motors.

Crashed because I did not see a cable from a distance, prop hit it.

http://www.mjxrc.net/goodshow/bugs-2-wifi-bugs-2-wifi.html- Bugs 2 and Bugs 3 both have 1806 1800kv motors.
I've heard people mention that the gps slows down the bugs 2 quite a bit, and Bugs 3 has high and low rates too which might help.

Wow...I saw a side-by-side speed test with both Bugs 2 models and the Bugs 3. The Bugs 2's were pretty much same performance, but the Bugs 3 was a ton faster. What's weird is that the B2C's motor looks like it's in a plastic case.

Maybe the difference is because of the bugs 3 not having gps and that it has high and low rates on it. Flight controller programmed a little hotter for high rate? My Bugs 2w came yesterday and I took it out for the maiden flight! SO easy to fly. GPS makes it feel a little sluggish, but it just hovers so nice and altitude hold makes is almost fly itself. Because the added weight and power, it actually feels easier to fly than the Syma X5C-1 that I gave to my nephews. Video wasn't too bad either. Already tried the return to home feature too.....LOL

The reviews on the B2 models seem to be universally positive. The camera on the B2C seems to leave a bit to be desired, though. MJX is really building some great quality quads for the price points. It's going to be really interesting to see what they come up with in the future.

Yes, I totally agree. MJX is allowing a lot more people to enjoy the hobby with very nice easy to fly quads at great prices. I sort of feel like I should have bought a Bugs 3, done the transmitter mod for more range, stuck the fpv camera in it from the bugs 6 and bought goggles. Could have done that all for about what I paid for my bugs 2w. I could have added a gimbal and GoPro later. Guess I'll have to buy a transmitter and build a smaller fpv quad now. Oh well. lol

I know a guy who did that with a Bugs 3: 600mw vtx, Runcam Owl, DALRC OSD with GPS. Its amazing. And once he was done with all the experimentation, not too expensive for the finished product. Along the way he spent a small fortune trying everything out though. I think he went through like 5 cameras, 3 vtx's...yikes.

Ouch! I have a few cables by my house I need to avoid too. Been lucky so far. BTW, I got my Bugs 2 and I ordered 2 bugs 3 batteries off of Amazon for about $30. All you need to do is put a couple large rubber bands around the battery lengthwise and it will fit in nice and snug and you've got spare batteries for the bugs 3! I can confirm because I flew it yesterday and they never moved in the quad. Was kind of disappointed with flight time though. Not quite 10 minutes. Hopefully it was because it was the first charge on the packs? Best of luck and enjoy!

Hi,
I am new to this hobby. I want to buy a drone and I have read good reviews on the bugs 2W as a starting drone with a good price. Does this quad have the option to choose from the different flight modes (acro, horizon and balanced if I am not wrong) to let you improve your skills?
Thanks
