Started printing today! he says they are coming out strong.

You need more than a GPS module. The full Naze/Flips (and some others) have a compass and barometer on board already.

Just about every FC made (except for the KK2) will have a USB port which is used to update FW using the applicable software and setting up up the quad. Baseflight, Cleanflight, LibrePilot, etc.
If not you could use the serial in and use a USB ASP tool

I replied to this before with "I thought it was like an arduino nano" which i don't know how it works. I have one and will need to find out how to load a program onto it before i will have working raising and lowering arms. I deleted that comment because i said something else afterwards that was complete idiot. I am still wondering though, how would i go about upgrading the software on the kk2.5? if i ever wanted to add gps to it, from what i understand, i would need to upgrade it to another version and use something called "?Multiwii?" I dont know enough to know what im talking about.

Other than that, more parts have been printed, or i should say "re-printed" It was printed at the wrong infill.
Check it out

You can but the KK would not be trustworthy IMHO though when this was originally done the KK2.0 had an analog gyro and no acc, where the current ones have been upgraded as far as I know the hardware addresses are the same too on the newer ones, though you'd be playing with fire so to speak. The multiwii is also a big pain to setup, if you have the budget I'd suggest the APM.

So, I found this https://3dr.com/kb/apm-2-6/ but there is no price. When i go to store it just loads 404. I found an andoer clone on amazon with some terrifying pics from a customer review and i know i wont be getting it from him. Ill continue looking but maybe you know where i can purchase one and how much. Also i try to stay away from hobby king because most of the stuff i order on there is cheap until you add the OVERPRICED shipping cost then it takes forever to get here. So ebay, amazon, newegg, bangood, robotshop, Those are the places im looking let me know if you know of a site.

seen any cheaper than this?
Not that I remember, most of the others were all a little bigger and more geared toward pro grade DSLR rigs and maybe a phantom. This detection system is cheaper than any I've seen by a good bit, unless you were to DIY one with an Arduino and IMUs.

You could use a big model rocket chute and a release system like this, but buying seems a lot easier.

i put all the parts in a box and im still missing the screws and carbonfiber rods so i added the weighit of the box to all the parts it was 4 pounds. do you think my motors can run that? with my prop size?

It might not have much overhead, but it should get off the ground.
