I did more research. For my 610mm QuadLugs big body frame I
settled on Turnigy D2836 8 1100KV motors, and 11" x 4.7 props on 45amp ESCs. Powered on a 5000mah 4S 40C lipo.
Placed a BIG order from HobbyKing this evening. Oddly enough, not for the props motors or battery that can come from the US warehouse, but I ordered up the ESCs, charger, FPV transmitter, receiver, radio, FPV goggles, antennas...
I went with the FatShark Base SD goggles without internal receiver. I don't mind being tethered to save the weight on my face, and the sunk cost when I may change freqs. (And I don't think I can bear looking that foolish with antennas sticking up on my head)
So, I'm committed to the build at this point!
Adding up all the parts including frame, and all the gear and battery, assuming HobbyKing ever stocks flight controllers again, the whole quad should come in around 2.2kg and the propulsion should generate just over double that lift.
