New beginner here with a controller lock

Hey guys. I’ve upgraded my quad from the cheap 40 quad to a much better one. I now have the recon 4K follow me. This is a watch or controller controlled. My issue is every thing is all good with the watch controller. But the hand held controller is binded correctly. Shows all stats, gps strengths. Contrails the gimbal. Everything. But when you go to start it says “locked” I can not find anything in the manual on how to lock or unlock. Does anyone know what I’m dealing with here ?

Normally it's unlocked by holding sticks in a pre-set position so try holding both sticks down and right

If that doesn't work, try both sticks down and out

Both meaning diagonally correct? I believe tried every direction for a 3 second hold in each with no luck. It is armed with just left diagonal down right. But I’ve tried both as a match pair in all directions

Hi I just downloaded the manual to arm you hold the left stick down and right for 3 seconds don't touch the right stick leave it in the centre

Right. But doing that is when it tells me it’s locked
