I have been flying my Syma X5C-1 for a couple of weeks now and it has been a great starter quad.
Coming from r/c planes i am a bit more used to twitchy controls and movements that mimic what i am inputting on the sticks. The Syma fell far from this in my opinion but it is an amazingly stable platform!
My Alias arrived tonight!!!
Went with a Blue one as it was $70 cheaper than any other color!
I have already modified that battery compartment to handle bigger, cheaper batteries.
I will be using my Syma batteries and i just need to trim a tiny bit off the nubs and they slot in perfectly! Just match wire colors and i am good to go!
I am using some thin strips of velcro to secure the battery pack to the beasts belly.
First flight on beginner mode and i was blown away by the speed of this thing! WOW!!
Hit the gas and it shoots straight up instantly, sounding like an angry swarm of bees.
It also requires a lot more user inputs for nice stable flight, this is going to take some getting used to as the X5C-1 has made me a bit lazy!
Just practised a bit of hovering, forward/backward, left/right and rotational movements.
It is going to be interesting unleashing this in the parl later on in the week!
Using 650mAh battery packs to start off with as i have lots of them.
Does anyone know what the max battery size is that can be used with this quad?
I guess the 808 keychain camera would be well tolerated by this quad.
Just a very quick first impression.
