osd battery warning

Hi everyone, I'm about to make the jump on my first quad build and wanted to do the UAVfutures $99 build. The only thing I noticed is there is no OSD in this build and I'm really concerned about frying my batteries. Is there a way to know when to stop without OSD? I see other FC's that...
