    X8w first quad

That's great news! The X5SC is flying well too. Only had it out a few times because of the bad weather but I'm getting the hang of it now. My main issue is fighting the wind with it being so light but it's a great learning curve. Yes camera is basic but ok.

    X8w first quad

I got mine from Red5. I'm from Stoke so have a local store to collect from but they also have an online shop. They're UK based so delivery times should be minimal. Being as you're in SW I'd say Cardiff or Southampton are your nearest shops. Their website is http://www.red5.co.uk all the info...

    X8w first quad

Thanks! I haven't been able to take the X5 out yet due to the stormy weather we've had in the UK but gave her an indoor test flight and everything seems to be functioning fine which is a good start! Hopefully I'll take her out for a maiden flight tomorrow.

    X8w first quad

I went and got myself an X5SC this morning. Maybe you should pick one up Bob? It cost me £50. I'll get a X8W or X8G as my next quad once I've mastered the smaller one. As for the training exercises, I've read that starting off flying in a small box area then slowly building up is a good way to go.

    X8w first quad

Hi RJB. I'm new to this forum too. Seems like you've made a solid choice. I'm off out today to pick up either the X5SC or X8W. I'll post some flight vids once I'm up and running. As for tips and exercises, I'd advise you to have a read thru some of the threads on here. There's a wealth of...

Looking to buy a Drone and overwelmed by the choices

Hi Glo. Thanks for the advice. Seems like they're 2 solid choices then. I'm off to my local hobby shop today that sells both, so I'll make my choice there. Agree with you on headless mode being a crutch. Glad the X8 takes a decent payload too. Are the motors easy to replace on both quads?

    Mtech Sky drone pro v2

Thought so. Is the range decent with it and is it nice and stable in flight? Probably veering towards the X5 but if it's worth investing a little more (especially with the 15% sale on) I may order the X8. I've seen the mtec (pro and v2 models) in store but not the X8 although it's available...

    Mtech Sky drone pro v2

Hi there. I'd agree with Jackson and say it's an X8 clone. Did you purchase from Red5? I'm looking at either the X5 or X8 quad myself. Red5 do them both as well as their MTEC model.

Looking to buy a Drone and overwelmed by the choices

Hi there I'm new to the forums also. You've pretty much answered the question I was going to ask. I'm brand new to quadcopter flight but have owned and flown a few fixed wing rc planes over the years (different ballgame I know) and received what I believe is a syma x5 clone (top race q511)...
