    Props and max rpm

Yup, those LiPos are indeed nice. Im using the 4s 5200mah ones already. 12 inches would be better, yes. But its a very tight fit an a 450 sized quad, maybe 11 inches on 3s is okay. And also, when i take similar prop size but lowering voltage, i will of course loose maximum thrust. So i was...

    Props and max rpm

Since i am now adding more stuff to the copter (i know i know kiss principe) some more max thrust is nice to have. And i was going to change my props to stiffer ones anyways, so why not a little bigger. Also Aeronauts are much quieter. And they are completely made in germany... and i am from...

    Props and max rpm

As i said above, 920x16.8 (4s) gives 15456rpm. But ecalc gives ~10000rpm. So my question is, as said above: will the propeller load slow the motor down to a maximum of ~10000rpm, as ecalc said, or will the motor still spinn at 15456rpm? (I am questioning the maximum rpm at no load vs maximum...

    Props and max rpm

Helloo! I've recently had a look at some new propellers, especially the Aeronaut CamCarbon light 10x4.5 ones. The problem is now, that Aeronaut gives a max rpm of 15000rpm. I have the Tiger Air 2212 920kv motors, which, o wonder of math, would spin at 920x16.8 at 15456rpm. But ecalc gives a...

Shipping times are actually really good here. ~3-6 days without express. I have now got the build together, and tested in cleanflight. 3 motors were fine, one esc had no signal. (why the f***?) In anoher test one of the good running motors was smoking -> disconected everything the same second...

As the topic says: What went wrong?

Of course i am not sure. Anything is possible. I have exchanged every esc with KISS ESCs. They can spin 14 pole motors with 42000rpm. At 3s my Motors would spin max 25200rpm. And KISS ESCs have some of the best sync capabillitys. I'm going to swapp the ESCs around in my quad and see what...

Ok. But then this quad must be have a bad curse on it.... On paper/during testing every single part from bolts to solder looks good and works flawless. In the air the quad just cuts all motors. I have ordered one last replacement ESC and a new PDB. If that does NOT work, i really don't know what...

So i noticed one motor pulling up the bell a little. Response and reliability were perfect while testing tho. Watch in fullscreen and HD to see it more clearly.

Thanks for the advice, that are some clear warnings! I know how sharp these things can be even at low speeds.... ;/....Under extra safe safety preperations i will prepare a test bench tomorrow. Testing is going to be outside with good cover and gloves! If anything interesting appears, i might...

No sorry, there's no solder bridged. I read an rcgroups thread where it was almost the same issue and a bad motor caused the naze to sort of "disarm". I guess i should bolt the motors to a bench and stress test them with props on? A few minutes?

As the topic says: What went wrong?

Pfhhh, finally had time. The pictures explain a little. The Motor 2 signal pin may have caused interferance, but i had that naze with the old escs too and there were no spinups with the old escs. The kiss escs had oneshot125 running, i disabled it for testing wiithout the naze. Everything looks...

As the topic says: What went wrong?

Everything is taken apart for better inspection but will investigate all ESCs, the PDB and the Nazes solder joints tomorrow. Pictures will come too. (cross ocean-time zones and exam time make coorparation not so easy)

As the topic says: What went wrong?

Well, i was trying to say the spinups never happenes with the old Hobbyking YEP! 18A ESCs. But the random crashes still happened with them. Im using Kiss 18A ESCs now. I have seen videos of those KISS ESCs with my Tiger 2206 motors working together just fine. And while testing the motors today...

As the topic says: What went wrong?

Upon closer inspection i could not find any indications for cold solder joints (on fc, pdb and escs checked) although i think of that too by now. But i can't be that unlucky to have a cold solder joint in 2 fc or in 3 Power ditr. or in 2 sets of ESCs........... Or can i? And just for note i had...

As the topic says: What went wrong?

If it was a motor problem i would have noticed it by now and the quad would not be flying perfectly again after crashes....

I know i could have build a second quad till now, but it kind of disturbs me that i can't fix it. o_O Things that are left from beginning: - Screws for the motors - Motors And i am still using the same solder, double sided tape and heatshrink.
