    Berkeley Drone Research Survey

I took the survey and noticed that right at the end. I'm in the US, but I'd have to imagine it was pretty annoying for you. **fixed the post to add US Residents Only.

This Waterproof Quadcopter Is Also a Submarine - Popular Mechanics

Pretty sweet, but needs to be tethered since it's also an underwater ROV.

Amazon's New Delivery 'Drone' Design (Prime Air)

This looks nice: http://www.birdseyeview.aero/ This other guy did a whole college robotics project on VTOL's back in 2005. Interesting: http://data.mecheng.adelaide.edu.au/robotics/projects/2005/VTOL/VTOL05_Final_Report.pdf I should stick with quads though. I only have so much time =)

Amazon's New Delivery 'Drone' Design (Prime Air)

Are there any boards on the hobby market that support that configuration?

Amazon's New Delivery 'Drone' Design (Prime Air)

I would love to see boards & frames for this style of quad in the hobby market! Would be super interesting to build.

They'll like knocking those Amazon delivery drones out of the air even more =)

Amazon's New Delivery 'Drone' Design (Prime Air)

As much as I like multirotors, I actually think this is a better idea. http://www.techinsider.io/delivery-bot-sticks-to-ground-skype-cofounders-2015-11?utm_source=msn&utm_medium=referral

Forum Category Cleanup & New Mini Quad / Racing Section!

Happy Holidays! Today, we went through and cleaned up the forum a bit, so if you're noticing moved, consolidated, and/or renamed categories, that's why. All original links to threads will work as usual since the URLs don't contain any info about the categories. The bigger changes were as...

    What charger?

They have it in the US warehouse with lower shipping costs, but the one you linked to on Ebay is the best deal!

    What charger?

Since the emphasis is on cheap, this is the way to go, and if you let your browser sit on the screen for a minute or so, the price should drop down to $11.45. Hobby King does that with a lot of products if you don't add it to your cart or click off the page right away, it thinks you're...

Pilots will need to register once, not for every copter.

As long as I can quickly and easily register without any technical problems and they don't let my personal info get compromised, I'll be happy =)

Pilots will need to register once, not for every copter.

It could still be an issue. When I worked for government, we used both AWS and Microsoft's "government cloud" offering, which is their Azure environment but the staff who manages the government portion gets background checks basically. Anyway, the people from our end and the contractors that...

Pilots will need to register once, not for every copter.

Yeah... I've worked for the government (state level) and would sit in meetings with developers discussing timelines for the most simplest of web apps (basically forms and a one-table database). They would be talking months and months for their teams to do stuff that someone from Odesk would...

Pilots will need to register once, not for every copter.

I wonder what info they'll be looking for. They're saying you'd get an ID number to tape to your frame - which is a lot better than what it could have been (or still might be), but I doubt the government can actually put something together by the end of the year that will actually keep my...

Pilots will need to register once, not for every copter.

I'd have to assume that it's anything you fly that's not on a string. I doubt it will make getting the license easier since they plan to have this in place by the end of the year, and therefore, it will likely be just thrown together.

Pilots will need to register once, not for every copter.

Yeah, if it has to happen, a one time registration will be much easier and it will mean we won't be paying a fee for everything we fly. If they give a pass to planes and helis, I think the law would be even more pointless though. They can fly a good distance with fpv and are more often way...

Not confirmed, but sounds like that's what they're going for, which is nice. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-faa-drone-rules-20151120-story.html .

Japanese Government to Slash Drone Regulations

http://dronelife.com/2015/11/06/japanese-government-to-slash-drone-regulations/ All the hobby stuff aside, I really feel like more governments should be doing what they can to help move this stuff forward for commercial use. Multirotors could be a game changer for a lot of industries and the...
