If it is bad it should show a low voltage when fully charged, that would indicate that a cell was shorted. I would charge in a fire proof place and then test the voltage, if low dispose immediately. Best if it is discharged a fully charge battery is the source of fire.

Practicing my moves managed to get the 5XC stuck in a tree, then crashed the 250 breaking the last prop I had. Next day got the 5XC out of the tree, got home and new props arrived and two new batteries. Looking forward to this afternoon. Lots of flying to do.
