    Flycolor Raptor-S tower.

Awsome. Makes for a very easy and simple build and had no issues setting it up. Adding a micro USB for the OSD would be nice, my only complaint. You could not buy the components individually for less money either. Would like to see a 40a esc version made for 4s to 6s, same set up. No VTX or...

DJI Goggles vs Fatshark HD3. What Gives?

Yea, camera ships require a different approach. Not sure why DJI made them unless they are going to get into FPV racing. A friend of mine has a phantom and uses a stand alone display for the camera gimbal and LOS for the quad itself. He would rather have the two functions completely seperate...

    Fatshark lens inserts

Not sure why the last thread was deleted from the form. Is there product censorship going on in this site? Anyway, ordered prescription lens's for my fatshark goggles from RHO-lens in Germany. Received them yesterday. Glass prescription lens inserts made to order from your personal prescription...

DJI Goggles vs Fatshark HD3. What Gives?

doesn't matter. Fatshark = slim and cool looking. DJI = bulky and super geek. Fatshark could suck and still out sell the DJI goggles. They are.....ugly. Have to get past that to start bitching about paying 500 bucks for a dollars worth of molded plastic and 20 bucks worth of off the shelf...

    Noob esc question

Go back and check your solder joints again before you put it together. Also go over them with alcohol and clean up the flux. As well be aware than carbon fiber will conduct. best to insulate your wires and connections from it. Personally, i run a strip of electrical tape down the whole arm...

    THIS JUST IN!!!!!!! VICTORY!!!!

"but there is nothing that says an airport tower can refuse to let you fly, only that you have to let them know." Assuming you want to fly near one, otherwise why call at all? Outside of their controlled airspace, they have no jurisdiction. Below 3000 feet and outside of their controlled...

    Cleanflight drivers

Also make sure you have a board that will run cleanflight. If it is a cc3d board it will not have the proper bootloader and you will get an fail when trying to connect. Same with a naza doard (dji). If so, serious pain to try loading cleanflight bootloader and hit or miss if it works afterwards...

    Noob esc question

first, the esc uses the battery voltage, not 5v. The signal wire is another story but you did not say you crossed that pad. Crossing the pos on an esc to the pos on a battery is exactly what your power distribution board does and is probably not why your motor does not work. Easy enough to...

    THIS JUST IN!!!!!!! VICTORY!!!!

It is the comment about flying anywhere near a tower, regardless of the type airspace. A drone, even a mini, can take out not only a small plane, but a jetliner too. Most towers in the U.S. are either government owned, city owned or private air strips, all of whom have complete authority to deny...

    THIS JUST IN!!!!!!! VICTORY!!!!

hahaha, yea, personally i use trees to balance my props. I thing DAL planted them decades ago knowing they will exponentially increase their sales in the future.

    THIS JUST IN!!!!!!! VICTORY!!!!

Uhh, being an air traffic controller myself, i can promise you if you fly near active air traffic, be it VFR or commercial, you WILL BE ARRESTED for endangering lives. I promise you. Letting them know will only facilitate where to send law enforcement. People, there is nothing that says you...

Beebot kit. Wooden Drone that Really Flies

This may not look like it but what you see is possibly the future of quadcopters. Modular. Consider the push towards all in one boards. How far away is a plug and play brain box you just plug in arms with mounted motors to? One generic box could be the foundation for quads from 180mm mini's...

    Help!!! Shaft threads all clockwise!!!

Some motors do not have opposing threaded shafts. Those do though, i have a set on one of my quads. The next series in the Emax line do not however, and just use lock nuts. Opposing threaded shafts are better. i have had lock nuts spin off, but they will work. just check them once in a while.

    Remove fpv camera

Like the above posters said, no harm in removing it. That said, you should try to destroy it. While the video transmitter is a decent unit and displays voltage (all you really need) without a full blown OSD, the 1000tvl camera is not. It works fine until you point it at the sun or it starts to...

Personally, i use trees to balance mine. Trees, the house, small branches and occasionally a fence.

Need to hear your input for a MIT Drone Project

Honestly, someone making a quad-rotor faster does not get my attention. Mindless. They are horribly inefficient leaving bigger motors and more power. No brainer = No grader IMO. Self tuning flight controller? Now you have my attention. Single board holding flight controller, power...

    this hobby gets expensive quick!

Agree. My point is better to wait until your flying skills get to the point where it matters. Everything you purchase during that learning curve will be long gone by then and all those hours you spent on the computer trying to get it to work will only delay getting to that goal. I have a box...

    this hobby gets expensive quick!

Yep. Looking back i wish there was someone to talk to or material that i could have used for a guild in getting started. Most of the crap on the web assumes you have a million dollars and the cost of parts are a pita. Racing this, racing that, all i want to do is fly. For those getting into...
