    new and loving it!

If you're getting a quad "built", it should be dialed in when you get it. If it comes with a KK2, they're what? $30? When you decide, just go get a Naza and swap it in. Then you'll have the KK2 to put in your next quad.

Beginner's Hubsan X4: Difficult to keep it at a certain height

Larger quads also have more mass, meaning more inertia, meaning more moment-to-moment force is required to change the speed and direction of that mass. So small fluctuations in system power don't produce enough force to move a larger quad very far off course or altitude. When it takes longer...

    Quad Control problems.

On that radio, select 'plane' or 'airplane' mode! It does no mixing according to the manual, page 6. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uploads/137920662X387078X43.pdf You can see on page 5 (labeled 4) in the manual above that 1-4 are Aileron (roll), Elevator (pitch), Throttle & Rudder...

    New build, FPV problems

Bruce Simpson (RCModelReviews on YouTube) did a video on filtering power out of a BEC. It's worth a watch and actually most of Bruce's stuff is. The downside of the center-pad quads is that you don't have a lot of acreage to work with.

    New build, FPV problems

I used to fly RC gliders, but I found the instances where I had to make a decision in split-seconds that would either save the plane or lose it made the hobby less enjoyable than I hoped for. The thing about quads is that you have modes where a hand-off response stabilizes them in place...

    New build, FPV problems

At 7:08 it sounds like the motors spun up suddenly. I agree the clicking was the gimbal trying to correct and you can hear the brushless motor actuating in a reset too, plus the image jerks just a bit with the clicks. It seems this sudden control issue is caused by a bad response to something...

13 year old quad need help (urgent plz)!

They are "servo leads", but they are difficult to search for because of inconsistent descriptions. Here's a bag of ten, so you'll have a few spares. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=52325 Your receiver ("9X8Cv2" comes with the Turnigy 9x radio) will have a...

    Hubsan X4 questions

The slot would be for a micro-SD memory card. A cheap one would be 4GB, but try to get it in "Class 10" so it accepts data fast enough. You might be looking at just buying another Hubsan and using this one for parts after that crash though.

    New build, FPV problems

I don't know what your board or plug look like, but you should be able to find an exposed spot on the plus and ground. Usually it's not as good an idea to cut the battery wire because they tend to be pretty beefy and difficult to solder back together. And you'd have to disconnect it to slip...

    New build, FPV problems

I believe we were talking about powering your board cam and/or transmitter that work with anything around 12 volts. If you're running a 4S now and maybe considering 6S to gain duration, the bus voltage is going to fall above the upper limit on some of these devices. The BEC you got is...

    New build, FPV problems

Were you able to view the video on a television as opposed to that LCD screen? I know your screen has the receiver in it, but there should be a composite video output too. I'm just thinking something in the circuitry driving the screen could be introducing the loss of clarity. I think the...

13 year old quad need help (urgent plz)!

Where are the servo leads? You need at least 4 to connect the Turnigy receiver to the KK2 controller. If you insert a link to the actual part you intend to order, I can make sure, for example, that the battery adapter is adapting the right way. I think I checked it and linked the correct one...

Good to hear we won't be reading about it in the news. It looks like you have a head start to a great hobby. Look forward to seeing how your refurb. progresses.

    New build, FPV problems

I've had no issues with the LawMate transmitters I have. Your choice may be impacted by the goggles you select. You should look at YouTube reviews and comparisons. What is it that the Boscam tx is doing that you're not happy with? The color balance on GoPros always seems to odd. In this...

13 year old quad need help (urgent plz)!

Tell you what. You put a list together with links to each part. Start with the list at the top of this thread, add the HobbyKing PDB, and the 4mm-XT-60 adapter. You have everything here, just put it together in a list. All you need to attach the parts is your hands, and maybe a screwdriver...

    GoPro Hero 3 Substitute?

I have an Astak, and other cams, but that is the only "GoPro equivalent" I own. The only drawback in it is you have to mount it upright to use if for simultaneous FPV because it will flip the recorded image, but not the real time image. The best feature of any "sports" cam is that power turns...

    Hi, I'm New

Get a bag of five servo leads (male to male) to connect the receiver to the KK2. The KK2 does not come with them. Also get a battery connector whip to solder to the integrated power distribution board on the frame. I think your battery comes with the molded keyed 4mm bullet connector (the...

    Do quadcopters float?

You could make a hoop with pool noodle material and attach it to longer landing gear, but it would probably add too much weight to this quad. A larger one would be better. I've seen it done with empty 1.5 liter beverage bottles on long carbon fiber or fiberglass arms too. You need stability...

    GoPro Hero 3 Substitute?

There are a lot of "sports" cameras out there that will easily adapt to a GoPro mount. They generally run from $79 to over $200. The price jump seems to come with WiFi and/or the ability to capture 1920 x 1080 at 60fps. Some cameras don't have an integrated screen. A few don't have...

    Best Motor for build

As far as flying two quads on one radio, you can just buy a Spectrum (compatible) receiver for the 2nd quad and use ANY controller. There are lots of DSM2 compatible receivers out there. Here's one...
