Coming from an FS-i6 user BetaFlight and FS-i6 is a really bad combination (so is CleanFlight) I would suggest using any of the OpenPilot based firmware with FS-i6. (At least until you get a total idea of what you are doing)

I would recommend you build one. It's cheap. It's more interesting. And if you are really interested then you will want to know how it works(what better way to do that than making it work yourself). Buy some components and build an F450 (It's easy to build compared to race quads). Have Fun.

Actually, there is no relation between C-rating and flight time(until you are overloading your UAV) and I assumed you will be 2 * 3000mAh batteries then it will be perfect to have two 15c batteries.

Well from what I have observed, you don't need to be in the DFU mode to flash the firmware, if you have CF of BF on it you can just flash it with an FTDI adapter connected to the MainPort and enabling the main port.(It has worked for me all along). I don't think that it is booting up at all...
