yes , either com 3 or 4 im trying both & changing cables but no luck tried reflashing & it keeps timing out saying I need to manually upgrade board

maybe a silly question just need to ask before i spend $..if the "usb device has failed ,windows unable to recognise" txt pops up on connecting is it time to purchase a new & or upgrade the FC or is this a fix?
