    New Mini Hybrid build.

Looks like it's coming along nicely! I actually started my micro FPV build last week. Currently waiting on a 3D printed frame that a friend is mailing to me. I am planning on using a custom built FC with an atmega328p and MPU6050 running MultiWii 2.4. I am hoping to get my weight down to around...

    New Mini Hybrid build.

What is the total cost of materials by your estimate? I have two quads, hubsan X4 and a custom built QAV210. I kinda want something in between as a FPV and rate mode trainer and something I can fly indoors.

RunCam Owl: Pitch-Black Ghost Hunting with IR LED Ring!

Great vid! Was the IR ring built or purchased? I wonder if there are higher intensity leds avaliable that could help reduce the footprint of the ring. Perhaps only 4 high intensity emitters might be used to create a more compact version.

Stuck wiring adjustable BEC to Lumenier PDB

Not quite. The red test lead should always be connected to the positive (+) terminal and the black should be connected to the negative (-). The IN should be coming from your battery and the OUT is the output voltage (look at the bottom of your BEC, it has the proper labels). This is correct...

    Completed Build - QAV210

I flew this afternoon and I actually made a shield using a cardboard box and tape. I also used the back side of a 7 ft ladder (where u would typically place a paint can or tools) as my platform so I didn't hafta bend over or stoop to look at the monitor. I successfully flew two 5-8 minute...

Drones will be shot down if near the super bowl

36 Miles?!! Really?!! I live in Gilroy, just south of San Jose. I just finished up my build and I really want to fly this weekend, especially when I have some guests visiting for the game. I think 36 miles is just a bit overkill, my quad wouldn't even make it a few miles up the road towards the...

    Completed Build - QAV210

Technically I completed the build two weeks ago or so but there were still a few loose ends. I had a ton of extra wires from the motors and ESCs that were completely unnecessary and unwieldy, so I trimmed and removed all extra wire. I have a dedicated power module with a BEC, so I was able to...

Looking to build a soldering station

150 watts? That sounds like a bit overkill for working on electronics, perhaps that iron was for something more heavy duty. Anyways, 60 watts is more than enough to use either lead or lead-free solder. I personally use a cheap 40 watt iron I got ages ago from RadioShack. I am eagerly awaiting a...

    CNC Carbon Fiber Parts

I'm starting to explore the joys of desktop milling and g coding, has anyone experimented with custom milled frames and parts? I'm interested in picking up a zen cnc machine or something similar but I have zero experience with CNC. I am a software engineer with some decent EE skills so I'm not...

    keep losing my prop nuts!!!

This. This times a million. I lost two caps before I picked up a bottle of loctite blue 242 and none since. You can find it at home depot (in the paint section) and most hardware stores.

    Motors not responding

If you are asking how to arm the quad, I am pretty sure that is what you are missing. The default Naze32/baseflight arming procedure is to hold the throttle stick down and to the right while turning on your RC transmitter. Some pictures of your setup might help also.

QAV201 First Build - Maiden Flight Video

I finally was able to post the video from last weekend of my first build. I haven't got my FPV gear setup yet, but I thought I would attache a GoPro to capture some footage.

Is there any idea how many are planning on complying with the new Registration Rule?

I signed up last night. It was probably my least painful experience with the government thus far (that isn't really saying much I guess haha). Anyways, 5 bucks covers all the UAVs you own for three years and I'm basically agreeing to not do things I wouldn't do anyways. I agree with Jackson, I...

    Hubsan X4 H107C for a beginner?

I have the H107L version and the only difference seems to be the camera. It's a great beginner quad and it really helped me get started with multi-copters. Some things I like about this series: Cost-effective Easy to find/buy replacement parts, batteries etc. Easy to fly indoors and outdoors...
