    Charger & Plugs help Syma X5SW & X8HG

Most of the better chargers will have most of the connectors you will need except for the 1s's hence the adapters.

    Charger & Plugs help Syma X5SW & X8HG

You can get an IMAX or clone charger for $50 or less at Ebay, Banggood, etc. For the X5 I think they are called mini losi plugs. Just ordered an IMAX clone off of ebay and a JST to mini losi adapter to charge 5 1s batteries.

    Safe Build list

My first build starting at the end of Sept., I want a large format quad for line of sight flying with FPV ability. No racing, just stability and altitude hold, maybe GPS? Love quad flying but my Syma X5sw is too small and very limited. I want something big and stable and eventually be able to...

    Syma X5SW Weak motor?

Well, they are brushed motors so after 30-40 flights they are liable to lose torque. If it still flies, fly it till it drops, or replace motors. One bad motor and you won't be able to fly, so they are probably just weaker than new. 30-40 flights, no crash? You doing good.

    1200mAh Batteries for Syma X5SW

Yeah, in low mode it's pretty useless in the wind, but in high mode it's a little better. But aren't all toy grade quads bad in the wind? I have a X5SW and tho it's squirrely in the wind it's flyable. Aren't all quads tricky in the wind? Just asking.

    Multimeter help

At the bottom of the face of the meter, the black lead should be plugged into the center (COM) plug and the red lead into the right (VomegamA) plug. Not the 10ADC plug.

    Multimeter help

The upper left quadrant of the dial should be for DC voltage. Will have the symbol V- or V=. The upper right will show V~, that is for AC voltage.

    1200mAh Batteries for Syma X5SW

Learning from experience, buy spare motors. At 4 for US$7.50, cheap enough. My prob is not burnt motors, but spun motor gears. In a crash or collision with throttle, the gear stops but motor still spins burning the gear to the point it becomes loose on motor shaft. No flight then. Always buy...

    Battery use questions

OK, I got my multimeter in. My voltages after charge are between 4.18-4.22. These are 1s 3.7v 720-800 mAh Lipo's. Is this good/bad? What other readings should look at?
