S P Racing F3 EVO Flight Controller/PPM

Using the F3 EVO and can not connect using PPM. I have watched every series video and followed al the instructions with many double checks of everything. I still can't get the board and receiver to talk. I can not get stick value movement in CleanFlight Configurator. Any help would be appreciated.
