Hello,
I'm new to the forum and I think I've come to the right place for some drone knowledge.
I live in Japan and one of the regulations regarding operating drones within the no-fly zones (which is everywhere in the city) is that if the drone is over 200g you need permission from the ministry of transportation. Flight in the restricted zones can be obtained by applying for permission 10days before you shoot, but of course it can also be denied. I've recently joined a media company that does marketing for local restaurants and we have a DJI Mavic Pro for use when we get permission to fly. In the case that we get denied or in a situation where it would be difficult to go flying a large drone to take some shots, I thought it would be a good idea to have a "backup-drone" to use just in case.
While the DJI Spark would have been perfect, it's 300g which is a 100g too heavy.
The Dobby looks like it might be the best bet out of the box, and it comes in just under the 200g weight limit to fly without permission.
I've been doing some research into other smaller microdrones, or drones that might be able to lift something like a gopro that may come under 200g but I'm not having much luck. While the video on these won't be very stable, I can deal with a medium amount of video jerkiness. I'd be putting my video editing software through it's paces to stabilize some of that shaky video, no doubt.
Any recommendations for a sub 200g drone that can record at least 1080p video? Of course if it can take higher resolution that would be better, but if it's at least 1080p I can work with that.
I also don't need it to be super fast, or have it to flips or anything crazy like that. Just something I can reliably pull out and take some nice slow steady shots in the event I'm not able to shoot with the Mavic.
