Greetings everyone,
I and two other friends decided to work on a quadcopter. We don't have much experience with hardware but we all know how to program in couple of languages. I am taking on most of the programming work load so I wanted to clarify somethings here before setting out programming.
We are not sure on our exact build, but we don't want to get any kits or pre setup systems. Since we are doing this for fun, it only makes sense if we spend our time building it from group up. Now for the questions:

- Have anyone tried any Internet related setups before instead of radio controls? I saw the AR.Drone Parrot which seems to work using WiFi using Node.js as a communication link. I know how to program in JS and can probably handle some Node.js but here are my concern:
- If we use a 3G/4G usb Internet or WiFi, how reliable would the internet be? Even then....
- Speed of communication. It might take too long to send commands to the quadcopter since I have the Raspberry PI in mind. The AR.Drone seems to be running on an ARM processor at 1Ghz, which is far more than the PI can achieve.
