I picked up a s500 kit a few weeks ago.It came with the Hobbypower 2212 920 kv motors,Hobbypower 30 amp esc's and the Apm 2.8 flight controller.I believe it's the same one Dragger built his from.
I watched a few videos on building one and watched Painless 360's videos on setting up the APM.I took my time but it went together easy enough. Most of my time was spent calibrating the esc's and in Mission planner setting the APM.
So I finally got to take it out this afternoon to test fly it and was a little nervous.lol So I arm it and slowly start raising the throttle.30% everything is good,40% not really moving,go to 50% then 60%.Still not lifting at all. Then I shut it down and realize I put the wrong props on wrong motors. After fixing that it flew with no problems.I wasn't expecting it be as stable as it was and I'm really happy with it.
