I've been interested in quads for a while now but was always offended by the price. In October, while poking around on Amazon I came across the Syma X5c for a great price. I read some reviews and decided to get it. 2 days later it was at my door. I had some fun with that but waiting for the weather to be good enough to take it out was bothering me. I found Syma X12S micro quads on line and bought a couple, not too bad for indoors, they can flip and have 2 settings for control. Decent for indoor use... I now own 3 quadcopters in about a weeks time. My daughter asked for a quad for Christmas so I bought her an X5C, she loves it.
When the X12S' decided to be a little flakey I went online looking for another brand. I found the Floureon H101 on gearbest.com that has inverted flight so, for $13 and change I bought 2. The kids LOVE them so I bought 3 more and spare batteries, propellers and a charger. I'm now up to 8 quads in a 1 1/2 month period.
I'm a VERY impatient person so I couldn't wait until spring to get my next quad. I'd been eyeing the HobbyKing Black Widow 260 for a bit and decided to just get it. I've now bought 9 quads in a short 2 month span. I think it's worth it though. It's a fun hobby, so far nowhere near as expensive as my RC truck has been AND parts that break are (so far) cheap. Propellers, I've bought about 9 extra sets already, $20 or so all in. New tires for my RC truck are $20 each and those are the CHEAP ones!
I'll be reading a LOT in here trying to learn stuff and, I'm sure, I'll be asking all the same dumb, repetitive noob questions too... be patient, please?
