Any fix for the Syma X8 altitude-hold models "sudden shutoff"?

So at least that eliminates that theory! Lower right on both sticks, release, then lower left on both sticks should is exactly what I'm doing before each flight. I'd like to think it works, or I'm wasting my time doing it each time! - do update us Tim.

Any fix for the Syma X8 altitude-hold models "sudden shutoff"?

My son and I go out flying in the field out front and some times other locations together, about four times a week, with three batteries each per quad. Before finding this technique they could regularly (several times a session) drop out the sky, but not predictably. The pattern often was after...

Any fix for the Syma X8 altitude-hold models "sudden shutoff"?

This is basically the same reply I gave on another thread...a few weeks on and it is still working so long as we are strict about the calibration every time, when we forget it drops again. We are trying to figure this one out for ourselves too. We have a pair, X8HC and X8HW - we fly them...

    Frustrated!

Sounds like you might have done opposite to me - ended up with X5 parts when I have an X8 similar but different. Or perhaps your supplier has mixed up the parts, i've seen that happen many times where the warehouse pick from the wrong tub. I do like my Syma X8 for the high availability and low...

Sky Drone V2 new gears source

Another thread on this forum tipped me off that this quad is also sold as a Fineco FX-7 FX-7CI FX-7C Using this information as a clue a new internet search turned up a whole host of spares here: http://www.duoduogood.com/308-fineco-quadcopter-with-camera-fx-helicopter?p=2 I've ordered some...

    Syma x8hg throttle cut issue

We are trying to figure this one out for ourselves too. We have a pair, X8HC and X8HW - we fly them together and were suffering from the the motors just cutting out at "inappropriate moments". Sometimes one would suffer, sometimes both withing minutes. We tried all kinds of experiments to find...

Sky Drone V2 new gears source

so the spare cog arrived today. Pictured below is the original with the new one behind. Sadly it is too big! 26mm vs 30mm outside diameter. Too big to fit the little pinion gear that drives it. ARGH! - I give up for now, if anyone finds one let me know.

Sky Drone V2 new gears source

Menkind customer service have responded with the anticipated response: Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately we don't sell spare cogs for the drones I'm afraid, I would advise to try somewhere like eBay or Amazon to see if they have any. Kind regards, Menkind Now I'm just waiting to see...

Sky Drone V2 new gears source

Its also known as an M:Tech https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sky-Drone-Pro-V2-Black/dp/B01BOZ4FLO I also have a SYMA X8 and it is smaller than that model by a fraction - it is very similar to the Syma but with cheaper components - not quite a clone!

The gear teeth shredded on one rotor. 26mm diameter - 4mm inner 2mm width 9mm inner shaft height I think 64 teeth (approx.) Anyone know any sources for replacements?

    Sky Drone V2 Upgrade Camera

So we wanted some better video than the WIFI down link from the stock camera was giving us. Bought a RunCam2 - took off the stock camera and cable tied the new camera to the drone. I was worried about performance with the heavier camera, however it seems to be managing it just fine so far, we...

    Sky Drone V2 Spare Legs

As MenKind and Red5 are out of spare legs for the drone, and having tried some Syma ones that are passable with some modification, I decided to design some myself. I'm pleased with the result - they fit snug and tight and are not too heavy. You can find them here...

Battery and Blades for Sky Drone Pro V2

We cracked one of the legs, http://www.menkind.co.uk/sky-drone-pro-v2-legs so have the same problem, they are out of stock (I think red5/menkind is the same group). I'm assuming that they are missing out on lots of sales of spares. Its a pity no one has stepped into the gap on ebay with...

    sky drone pro v2

The props really are difficult to put on upside down, they don't have a large enough hole on the top to get confused by and the screw to hold onto the prop shaft is only on the correct side.
