I was wondering if the c rating might have a lot to do with it. I need to be educated on that.

I took a Hubsan 501 2700 mAh 10c battery and put it in my bugs2w thinking I get better fly time. Not the case. The flight time was the same as using the original 1800 mAh 25c battery. Only 10min with video running. I get 20 min with video running on the Hubsan. What's the deal?

Just now reading this. You can use a 501s standard controller to operate your 501a and you will have full 5.8ghz FPV.

I know if you are 100m or more it will maintain your current altitude. But if you are too low and I don't know the exact altitude, it will raise altitude then return to overhead.

I have a stock Bugs 2W. In two occasions, I had it go unresponsive and stuck in the air untill the battery died enough to let it fall out of the sky. Both times it was at night. And, both times it was at an undisclosed altitude over 100m but under 400m. Skies were clear. No signs of UFO...

Unless you have a board problem or motor problem, I don't understand why it won't fly stock with that camera. I have the same camera and gimble and I have no problem flying with it. Just don't have a long flight time. Oh, those gimbles are junk. They break Everytime you crash. I refrained one...

Still haven't been able to fly outside yet. But, I did an experiment inside. I modified the battery bay to except a 3000mah battery and flew it inside my house. It flew for exactly 21 min. before the lights stated to flash. As soon as the lights started to flash, the drone immediately descended...

I was able to fly a little yesterday with the syma hg camera attached to my brushless conversion project. I was impressed how it flew. Still very smooth and quiet with added weight. Still need to take out into the open country side and let it rip so I can see how it will really do.

Timing probably isn't the correct term. They are phased. If they are wired wrong, they just turn the opposite direction. The ground, or in most cases the black wire, stays where it is. Just swap the other two wires and your good to go. Bench test before putting the quad completely together.

I love that x8 flimsy shell. It can fall 90 meters from the sky and nothing happens.

If you go to the syma store and look at the brushless motor upgrade kit you can see what the board looks like. It looks like they take an x8 board and wire it to another flight controller board. There are no escs. I assume it is all in the other board.

I assume the board is modified for brushless since this is a complete kit. You are right about the flight time. Yesterday I used a 3000mah battery and I got over 10 min of flight time. The 2200mah only did about 6 or 7 min. I haven't tried to exhaust the battery yet to see what the flight time...
