I've been looking at the Spark, and the Mavic before that. But my Phantom 3 Advanced with long range antennas and the HDMI out on the controller for goggle use still can't be beat.
The long range one was done with a Phantom 3 Advanced with some long range antennas from fpvlr.com on the transmitter. By the way I'm 10 years older than you!
It was just over 15,000ft (2.9 miles). Had to override it wanting to RTH. Still landed with over 30% battery as I was flying into the wind on the way out to give a safety margin for the return. Was flying at full speed with the wind behind me - hence overtaking the cars!
Have fitted these long range antennas from FPVLR.com they have made a huge improvement to the extent that my range is now only limited by the battery. It's just a shame they look like one of Madonna's old bras!
